Meet Raoul: Power-up and export at the Tyra field
In this newest video, you will meet Raoul Da Silva who is Commissioning Power & Compression Leader for Tyra Redevelopment. Raoul will take you on a tour around the new high-tech processing module where the gas from Tyra and the surrounding fields will be transformed into the final product supplied to Denmark and Europe. Here, he will give interesting insights into the power supply of the Tyra hub and show the gas export compressor which will distribute first gas to Denmark this winter.
During the recent months, the team safely completed crucial steps in the final stage of the Tyra Redevelopment such as the reconnection of Tyra with the surrounding fields and Denmark as well as the power-up of the two gas turbines and successful testing of key compressors which help to create and export the final dehydrated and cooled gas product.
The largest infrastructure project in the Danish North Sea is currently in the very final phase where all hands are on deck, performing thorough tests of the equipment to verify the integrity of the systems, guarantee high quality, and ensure safe work conditions for the crew before gas will enter the new facilities and re-start Tyra’s production in the coming winter season.
About the Tyra Redevelopment project
In September 2019, the production from Denmark’s largest gas field, Tyra, has been suspended for its redevelopment which presents the largest single investment in the North Sea ever. Since then, the old facilities were removed and recycled, and eight new platforms were constructed and successfully installed in the Danish North Sea. Currently, the team prepares the facilities for the re-start of production.
